Graham Fletcher lives in Dunedin where he is the principal lecturer in painting at the Dunedin School of Art, Otago Polytechnic Te Pūkenga. He holds an MFA and is a Doctor of Fine Arts (Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland). He has held nineteen solo exhibitions in New Zealand, Australia and the USA as well as participating in numerous significant exhibitions at public institutions.
He has received numerous awards, including the Tylee Cottage Residency 2021, the Florence Derieux Jury Award Tokyo 2017, Wallace Arts Trust Development Award 2010, Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant New York 2002, Special Merit Award Wallace Art Award 1999.
His work is represented in prestigious collections such as Auckland Art Gallery, Dowse Art Museum, Hocken, Te Papa, University of Auckland, National Gallery of Victoria, Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, Mark Rothko Art Centre, Latvia.
