John Parker is one of New Zealand’s most innovative and celebrated potters. His work is held in all collections of importance. Among many honours received he was made a New Zealand Arts Foundation Laureate in 2010. A major book publication on his work, Cause and Effect, was published in 2016. He is also a well-known, award-winning theatre and exhibition designer with strong interests in opera and film, all of which influence his pottery.
Negative Spaces as an exhibition explores how overlapping forms interact or don’t, with the spaces between contributing additional dialogues informing what we see and how we see it.
